Football has 150+ markets on Premier League and Champions League matches, including full goalscorer markets, bet builder legs down to card and corner totals, and same-game combinations. The bet builder works on pre-match and in-play selections and now supports player prop legs via the Impact Sub feature, which keeps a player prop bet alive when the named player is substituted – the replacement inherits the goal, assist or card requirement.

Horse racing is where the sportsbook earns most of its long-term reputation. All UK and Irish meetings are covered from early prices through to the off, with international action from Meydan, Longchamp, Woodbine, Hong Kong and the main US tracks. Best Odds Guaranteed, Tote pool betting, antepost markets on the Classics and the Cheltenham Festival, and race replays from the William Hill TV service make it one of the stronger racing books in the UK. Greyhound coverage is similarly deep, with BAGS and Irish meetings priced up from first race to last.

Tennis, cricket, golf, rugby union, darts, snooker, boxing and MMA all get solid treatment. US sports – NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL – have become a real focus in recent seasons, partly driven by the group’s US footprint before the stateside William Hill sportsbook was sold to Caesars. Niche markets like specials, entertainment odds and politics still appear when relevant events come up, though the political betting menu is thinner than at Paddy Power.

In-Play Betting and WHTV Live Streaming

In-play betting is available across every major sport, with live odds updating a few seconds behind the action. The in-play interface groups events by sport and shows a live score, key stats and the current market prices side by side. Cash out is offered on most singles and many accumulators, and partial cash out lets you take a portion of the projected return without closing the whole bet.

WHTV is William Hill’s live streaming service and it remains one of the better ones in the UK. All UK and Irish horse racing and greyhounds are streamed free to any funded account, along with a selection of international racing. Tennis from the ATP and WTA tours, football from outside the Premier League and Champions League, basketball, darts and snooker all appear on the streaming schedule. The big gap is top-tier English football – William Hill does not hold Premier League or Champions League streaming rights, so if you want to watch those matches you will need a separate subscription.

Access to WHTV requires either a positive account balance or a recent qualifying bet on your account. Streams play in a resizable window so you can watch and place bets without leaving the event page, and the app version works over 4G and 5G without heavy buffering in our testing.

Mobile App and Desktop Experience

The William Hill app has had a full redesign during 2025 and the current version is a clear step up from the older build. The home screen shows the current welcome offer, a carousel of featured events, and quick links to racing, football and your bet slip. Navigation is tab-based with a bottom bar for your main sports, bet slip and account, and the bet builder opens in a dedicated panel rather than a pop-up overlay. Login supports Face ID and fingerprint, and the app remembers your last sport so you land straight on the markets you actually use.

The iOS version holds a 4.7 star rating on the App Store and the Android app sits at 4.3 on Google Play, both of which put it among the better-rated UK betting apps. We did see the occasional odds refresh lag during a busy Saturday afternoon in-play window, but nothing that forced a restart.

On desktop, the site layout is dense – there is a lot of information on the sportsbook home page – but the A-Z sport menu on the left and the search bar at the top make it easy to jump to the market you want. Pages load quickly on fibre and the bet slip stays anchored to the right-hand side, which keeps focus on your selections while you browse.

Payment Methods, Deposits and Withdrawals

Is William Hill Safe and Trustworthy?

William Hill is operated by WHG (International) Limited, with its UK-facing sportsbook covered by UK Gambling Commission licence 39028 held by the Evoke plc group. That places all deposits within the UKGC’s segregation rules – customer funds are held separately from operational capital and protected at the Medium level under the UKGC’s published framework. The group also holds a Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner licence covering technical infrastructure.

There is one bit of history to flag. In 2023, before the current ownership arrangement, William Hill’s previous operating entities paid a record settlement to the UKGC over AML and social responsibility failings. Since the Evoke acquisition completed, the operator has tightened its KYC and AML processes, and there have been no further public enforcement actions of that scale. Evoke plc is publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange, which adds a layer of financial reporting transparency that smaller, privately-held bookmakers do not offer. One thing to track: in late 2025 Evoke announced a strategic review that could lead to a sale of the group, following changes to UK gambling duty. A change of ownership would not affect the UKGC licence or customer fund protection, but it is a factor if you are choosing a long-term main account.
